10th Street & Jaycee Lane, McLain Rogers Park, Clinton, OK
Registration:7am-11am; Awards 4pm Entry Fee $35
The annual Clinton Route 66 Festival has shifted to a spring time event this year. Festivities will take place on May 25 & 26. Friday night, May 25, downtown Clinton will be very busy along Frisco Avenue. The evening will kick off with a burn out area on 5th Street between Frisco and Avant followed shortly by a stereo sound off competition sponsored by Red Dirt Audio. Check out the best system in Western Oklahoma! Topping off the evening main street events will be the Lucille’s Route 66 Battle of the Bands. Tell your favorite band to sign up now! As part of the prize pack, this year’s Battle of the Bands winner will also get to play on Saturday, in the McLain Rogers Amphitheater. Saturday, May 26, will be a day of events from morning until nightfall in McLain Rogers Park. The car show kicks off that morning. Moving the festival to a spring time event makes this car show one of the first of the season! Other events that day include the National Weiner Dog Races, hot dog eating contest, magic show, poker run which has $2000 in prizes, plenty of vendors with great merchandise and concludes with a concert by Still Surfin’, a tribute to the Beach Boys on their 50th Anniversary.
